Data Engineer

The Challenge: 

Conduct the delivery of data services and initiatives designed to enhance the services and level of support provided to the client. Assist stakeholders in understanding their data environments on a variety of tasks, ranging from business intelligence platform administration, inventory, standardization, analysis, training, and metadata modeling. Work closely with the knowledge management team to develop standardized approaches to data and supporting policies to ensure interoperability within existing systems of record on all networks, as well as working with your team to identify, manage, and escalate risks. Promote internal and external collaboration, developing partnerships, and mentoring are instrumental to success. Work with analysts, intelligence operations, resource managers, and knowledge managers to ensure data can be visualized, integrated, and manipulated. Travel throughout Europe is required to facilitate cooperation with team countries as required.

You Have: 

  • 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including managing, retrieving, processing, and optimizing data
  • Experience with Cloud computing framework, infrastructure, ElasticSearch, and coding languages, including Java and Python
  • Experience with interfacing between Microsoft including SharePoint, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, InfoPath, Power BI, and Visio
  • Experience with knowledge management principles and procedures, web design, or web-based applications
  • Knowledge of DOD intelligence systems, application, and life cycle
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and succinctly brief client leadership and colleagues on results of research
  • Ability to travel throughout Europe to facilitate cooperation with other team countries 
  • TS/SCI clearance required
  • BA or BS degree, or 6 years of experience with data engineering in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with IT at CCMDs or Joint Staff preferred
  • Experience in the EUCOM AOR
  • Knowledge of SOF capabilities and intelligence and collection activities

Clearance:
