Air Defense Training and Simulation Specialist

Key Role:

Work as part of a Booz Allen Hamilton team providing homeland air defense scenarios, simulations, and role play during exercises for training military command and control (C2) personnel. Maintain knowledge of peacetime and wartime homeland air defense tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), build scenarios in Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) compatible environment generators which meet training audience preferred learning objectives (DLOs), mission rehearsals, and explore how to conduct operations during future anticipated events. Support training of the 601 Air Operations Center (AOC) via Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) simulations, subordinate air defense sectors (ADS), and the Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC). Help to craft and coordinate Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH) inputs to policy forums and working groups to support initiatives, as directed by higher headquarters. Provide lessons learned and corrective actions to maximize the effectiveness of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training. Incorporate lessons learned into follow on training events. This position may require travel between two to five times a year to locations, including Rome, NY, Tacoma, WA, Langley AFB, VA, and Washington DC. 

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience as a US Air Force pilot, weapons systems officer, air battle manager, or equivalent in other DoD services

-Knowledge of NORTHCOM and AFNORTH roles and missions

-Ability to capture and provide insightful debrief for a training audience at the AOC or ADS levels

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as an instructor or evaluator

-Experience on a numbered Air Force or Combatant Command staff

-Experience with DIS-compliant virtual cockpit simulators, including Boeing Big Tac and Combat Environment Server (CES) and desktop simulators, including the Experimental Common Immersive Theater Environment (xCITE), Next Generation Threat Simulator (NGTS), and Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT)

-Experience with Air Force training networks, including Air Reserve Component Network (ARCnet) or Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON)

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including for oral briefings
