Academic Affairs Solution Expert

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as an Academic Affairs Solution Expert. Support the OEHRM CMO Chief of Staff in the management of Research and Education related activities. Manage, track, and provide logistical and programmatic support to Research Chairs and Members. Facilitate collaboration between the Council Chairs, Cerner, and the OEHRM Council Command. Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to OEHRM efforts engaging external and enterprise-level Academic Affiliations with Cerner for healthcare profession trainees. Record meeting minutes to capture the technical information, requests, and design decisions. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • ​Experience planning, designing, and overseeing the deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures including EHRs, software, and interface components
  • Experience with analysis and development of Current and Future State workflows
  • Experience in Build and Design Message Center, including direct messaging
  • Experience assisting in mapping VA Trainee roles to Cerner security roles for various HealthCare positions
  • Experience managing functional validation and end user testing for Cerner and integrated third party solutions
  • Experience with an academic Health Care facility
  • Ability to assess functional community inputs/requirements against solution framework to develop and map a business-driven IT roadmap
  • Ability to guide detailed problem solving and design-related discussions to achieve the desired future state
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or Healthcare and 8+ years of experience working in a professional environment or 18+ years of experience working in a professional environment in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Experience with business process redesign, change management strategic communications, human capital, strategic planning or training
  • Experience serving the U.S. federal government, military or intelligence community

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 100,000 to 130,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
