Chief Cloud Architect

Key Role:

Lead the creation of technology frameworks and provide technical leadership in support of Booz Allen's clients, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. Serve as a central point of contact for other Technology teams within the Commercial business, for all matters related to cloud architecture. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services. Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and DR for applications. Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment. Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in two of the following technology frameworks: technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
  • 5+ years of experience with Cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware NSX
  • Knowledge of AGILE development, SCRUM and ALM with one or more of the following programming languages: JSON, Perl, Java, Python, Powershell, C++, Ruby, HTML, CSS, Javascript, .NET, Responsive Web Design, Node.js, or Swift
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, CI/CD, DevOps, Containers, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Docker
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features, including OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, and elastic scalability
  • Knowledge of network architecture and application development methodologies
  • BA or BS degree or 12+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with one or more of AWS, Azure, GCP and VMWare implementations
  • Experience with multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
  • Knowledge of modern authentication protocols, cybersecurity, and all components of a technical architecture
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies business drivers, and emerging computing trends
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Knowledge of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, or client and server systems
  • Ability to provide oversight on major transformation projects and successful transitions to support teams
  • BA or BS degree in CS, Systems Analysis or a related field
