Chief Technologist and AI Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Work with innovators in the early stages of ideas, products, and platforms using emerging technology in the AI and Analytics domain to help transform the future of federal agencies. Drive the vision and architectural direction, develop innovative design solutions to meet requirements, and implement engineering standards and best practices. Lead a team and work closely with stakeholders and multi-functional teams, from digital transformation to implementation of AI solutions. Orchestrate the development of a system of interest encompassing hardware and software through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk and opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project. Lead development of solutions to highly complex problems. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with leading client-facing digital and technical engagements using a variety of solutions for federal agencies
  • Experience with development or implementation and integration of AI-enabled edge and cloud-based solutions into Department of Homeland Security environments
  • Experience with requirements traceability analyses in support of system and software architecture development, software test, or verification activities
  • Experience with enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, big data systems, and cloud architecture
  • Experience with DevSecOps and using CI/CD tools, including Git, Jenkins, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, TeamCity, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with developing and walking clients through analysis of alternatives on proposed cloud and data products and tools in the architecture
  • Knowledge of full stack and object-oriented development
  • Knowledge of architectural and technology paradigms and concepts, including Open Architecture and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with developing technical proposals in response to RFPs and RFQs
  • Knowledge of using SysML and UML for system or software architecture and model development
  • Secret clearance
  • Master's degree in Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $118,000.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
