Clinical Documentation Standardization Lead

Key Role:

Support the Chief Medical Office (CMO) within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a clinical documentation standardization lead. Develop processes and templates for communication with Councils and VHA program offices around driving standardization of clinical documentation across VA and DoD. Create inventory and tracking tools to manage information needed to inform the Cerner Data Collection Workbooks. Create inventory and tracking tools to manage information need to inform the Cerner build.

Basic qualifications:

-4 years of experience in a professional work environment required

-Experience with developing, implementing, and refining clinical decision support systems and leading or participating in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems, including EHRs and order-entry systems

-Ability to assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients

-Ability to characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes

-Ability to work independently

-MA or MS degree in Healthcare or a related scientific, technical, or clinical field required or 12 years of experience in a professional work environment may be substituted for degree requirements 

Additional qualifications:

-Experience in the VA

-Experience with implementing Electronic Health Records
