Clinical Integration Expert

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Clinical Integration Expert. Provide broad and deep clinical integration expertise to ensure that clinical processes and standards are applied to all assigned products and projects. Support to address changes to product and project scope, schedule or funding, and methods to document and analyze proposed changes for presentation to VA Leadership for decision. Recommend industry best practice clinical requirements and review change requests. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine impacts of system changes based on new or revised clinical requirements. Engage with Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) to coordinate and synchronize project alignment and integration. Examine and recommend improvements to current and future workflows and requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment
  • 5+ years of experience working in a clinical setting
  • Ability to work independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare or clinical environment
  • Ability to act as a highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multiple platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Healthcare, Nursing, Medicine, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Data Analytics, Physics, Math, or an additional 10+ years of experience with working in a professional environment in lieu of degree requirements

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with EHR Implementations
  • Experience with the VA or VHA
