Cybersecurity Tools Architect, Senior

Key Role:

Perform large and complex tasks of subject matter expert, senior level technicians, specialists, or managers. Work individually or as a key member of a senior leadership team. Oversee and monitor performance across several disciplines, and when required, take steps to resolve issues. Provide expert guidance and direction to Government and Vendor senior level technicians and managers. Direct multiple contractor and subcontractor teams through to project completion. Develop security capability implementation solutions that mitigate risk. Serve as the principal technical advisor and subject matter expert for cyber tools architecture support services. Architect, design, develop, direct, and implement enterprise network cyber defense capabilities to prevent sophisticated cyber threats, vulnerabilities, or detects when prevention fails. Architect security solutions that use layered defense and set the foundation for the critical zero trust architecture, technologies, and processes. Implement security measures that protect and enable advanced threat hunting the IC enterprise while maintaining knowledge of the life cycle of emerging threats, attack vectors and methods of adversary exploitation. Lead a team in maintaining proficiency and specialized knowledge in computer network theory and understand IT standards and Cybersecurity Tools Architectures, including the OSI model, and the methods of exploiting those standards. Support Engineering and Sustainment Tier functions, as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with information security or cybersecurity fields

  • Experience with designing or architecting comprehensive cybersecurity solutions in a large enterprise

  • Knowledge of best practice cybersecurity and threat-based cybersecurity frameworks and latest trends

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience with conducting or supporting cyber architect projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 10+ years of experience with conducting or supporting cyber architect projects and activities, or Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience with conducting or supporting cyber architect projects and activities

  • DoD 8570 IASAE Level III Certification, including CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, or CCSP

  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND within 30 days of start date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with data classification standards, including controls in U.S. Government environments and classified data handling

  • Experience with defining security requirements, security assessments, and security recommendations using industry standards as reference models

  • Experience with administrator, privileged, or elevated access for cybersecurity tools

  • Experience with Linux or Windows Server

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, frameworks, and implementation strategies

  • Knowledge of Agile, ITSM, DevSecOps, and Change Management processes

  • Knowledge of IaC and CaC, CI and CD, AI and ML, and Secure Software Development Life Cycle concepts

  • Possession of excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Forrester Zero Trust Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
