Cybersecurity Engineer

Key Role:

Apply expertise in DoD and DON strategic policy to allow an acquisition organization to apply cybersecurity requirements to the development and delivery of cyber resilient systems. Apply a thorough grasp of DoD and DON cybersecurity and acquisition governance and policies to provide advice on policy setting, security control implementation, and available technology for the client's portfolio of systems. Provide executive-level support to senior government officials, including developing meeting material, representing the organization at senior level meetings, and tracking tasker status through completion. Provide limited oversight to both government and contractor employees

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity, systems engineering, computer engineering, or information assurance
  • Experience working with STIGs, RMF, ATOs, or SCAs for DoD systems 
  • Knowledge of Program Protection Plans (PPPs), including conducting Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) policies and requirements
  • Knowledge of configuration management, technology, and cybersecurity best practices, policies, processes, manuals, guides, and publications outlining standards needed to administer a comprehensive Cybersecurity program
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Security+ CE or IAT Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD or Navy acquisition programs
  • Experience with Platform Information Technologies (PIT), applying cybersecurity policy to DoD threat systems, radar systems, or electronic warfare systems
  • Experience with conducting and analyzing ACAS or Nessus scans
  • Experience with managing system authorization packages in eMASS
  • Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxy, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, or penetration tools
  • Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering and digital engineering methods
  • Knowledge of DoD threat, radar systems, or electronic warfare
  • Knowledge of the system development life cycle, including system definition, architecture development, design, analysis, integration, and testing and evaluation
  • Ability to apply subject matter expertise to system engineering documents, including technical requirements documents, interface control documents, and system specifications

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
