Emergency Management Exercise Planner, Mid

Key Role:

Provide analysis of emergency management stakeholder requirements and support to lead the design, development, conduct, and evaluation of exercises, including no-notice Thunderbolt exercises, interagency exercises, operational component exercises, and exercises that involve regional offices. Coordinate and maintain the relationship between the contractor’s staff and stakeholders to optimize performance and cross-functional expertise, and support performance, measurement, and reporting and minimize cost expenditures. Leverage understanding of emergency management preparedness programs and principles and use significant and working knowledge of applicable documents. Ensure the quality of deliverables and products, support the program manager with ongoing projects and new projects, and formulate and implement effective and timely remedial actions. This position will require travel within the US, when necessary to accommodate client needs and is located in Washington, DC.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in the support of emergency management response
  • 3+ years of experience in exercise planning
  • 2+ years of experience in leading exercises or projects
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in the support of emergency management response, emergency management exercise planning, or related projects,
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Visio
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • MA or MS degree
  • HSEEP training attendance
  • Master Exercise Practitioner Program certification
