Federal Financial Management Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Perform analysis, reconciliation, and reporting tasks for a federal civilian agency to complete the month-end close within deadlines and assist with quarterly and yearly financial reporting requirements. Complete daily and weekly updates to data reporting databases and tools and weekly and monthly reconciliations of financial data and prepare summary packages. Analyze financial data to identify variances and research and resolve the variances. Examine the creation of financial reports, including monthly reconciliation reports and quarterly financial reports. Recommend business process improvements for finance and accounting processes and assist with implementing improvements. Work in a client-facing environment and interact with all levels of client staff, team leads, and project managers.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role

-Ability to create and maintain reports using Microsoft Excel or an Access database

-Ability to convey complex financial or technical concepts clearly

-Ability to research and evaluate facts to arrive at a logical and sound conclusion

-Ability to analyze and recommend process improvements

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the US Standard General ledger (SGL)

-Experience with financial management systems or financial accounting at a federal agency

-Experience with working in a client-facing environment

-Knowledge of Department of Treasury systems

-Knowledge of Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) guidance circulars, including A-136, A-123

-Public Trust clearance preferred

-BA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; MA or MS degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
