Forensic Science Business Analyst

Key Role:

Provide technical knowledge and recommendations within the area of expertise to support the management of projects within a technology portfolio or externally-performed criminal justice or research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) activities. Work individually and on teams to advance agency goals and objectives. Support program and grant management and use technical knowledge to help ensure science and technology programs stay on track. Work on specific science and technology portfolios and activities, including criminal justice applied technology and forensic science efforts. Provide support for a scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) program and use expertise to assist federal program managers with science and technology programs. Review and analyze grant programs and individual projects using grant management knowledge and data analytics. Support science and technology portfolios and activities, including criminal justice, applied technology, and forensic science efforts with an emphasis on forensic DNA applications. This position requires the ability to travel.

Basic Qualifications:

-2 years of experience with forensic sciences, including laboratory analysis of forensic samples or interpretation of resulting data

-1 year of experience in an operational accredited forensic science laboratory or a laboratory directly relevant to forensic sciences

-Experience with biological science and DNS forensics in an academic or work environment

-Ability to travel less than 25% of the time

-Public Trust clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with front-end crime scene investigation or court testimony preferred

-Experience with biology preferred, including reviewing high-volume data, data analytics, and performance measures

-BA or BS degree in a scientific, engineering, or other technical field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
