Health Data Storage Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Health Data Storage Subject Matter Expert. Update design configurations and validate updates made to the 24 Brocade Fiber Channel Switches and review Snapshots and Snapclones for NetAPP and HP3PAR storage arrays. Update design configurations and validate updates made to the data storage devices disk. Confirm backups using the HPE ESL G3 700 tape library utilizing Commvault or other software. Prepare weekly report on the storage capacity on all Storage Arrays and the percentage of space utilized. Update the database Backup and Restoration Strategy with new approved capabilities, review activity on Storage Support Consoles and Software, and actively monitor disk storage capacity and switches providing utilization and performance graphs and statistics using monitoring tools while making recommendations for optimization. Recommend integration services for new disk storage into the VINCI environment and validate the completion of technical refresh data migration services from existing disk data storage devices to newly acquired disk storage devices and coordinate with multiple vendor supports for complex problem resolution of hardware errors, software issues and firmware upgrades. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with VA and DoD legacy health data and private sector health data 

  • Experience with Storage Solutions NetAPP and HP 3PAR 

  • Experience with storage technology related certifications or training 

  • Knowledge of VistA  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Health Data Science, Data Analytics, Math, or Physics and 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment or 15+ years of experience working in a professional environment in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the VA

  • Experience with a diverse set of coding languages, including .NET, JAVA, MVC, TSQL, XML, JSON, HTML, AJAX, FHIR, HL7, Python R, or MS SQL

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 140,000 to 160.000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
