International Trade Compliance Analyst

Key Role:

Perform initial intake of new International Trade Compliance (ITC) matters and inquiries and conduct initial outreach. Coordinate with client-facing teams to ensure ITC authorizations are in place as necessary for international activities. Support ITC processes for cross-border shipments and other transfers by maintaining automated approval workflows and analyzing requirements for specific cross-border shipments, preparation of associated paperwork, and tracking. Implement Facility Control Plans (FCP) and Militarily Critical Technical Data (MCTD) Agreements (Form DD2345) for facilities as needed. Coordinate reporting of relevant metrics of interest to other stakeholders and firm leadership. Assist with international trade compliance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts as assigned. This position can work remotely but should be able to support a 9-5 EST schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Ethics, Compliance, Legal, or Procurement
  • Experience with compliance processes for international shipments and other cross-border transfers
  • Knowledge of US Customs, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), or International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to determine the ITC classification, including export classification, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), or Schedule B classifications for firm solutions and technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, and use interpersonal skills to gain the cooperation of others
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, work independently, and to exercise judgment about when to escalate potential conflicts to a supervisor
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with workflow management tools, including Swimlane, Tableau, SmartSheet, or PowerAps
  • Experience with drafting export license applications and requests for the use of license exemptions and exceptions
  • Experience with ISO auditing processes
  • Knowledge of International Air Trade Association requirements including IATA rules for HazMat and Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of non-US international trade laws and regulations
  • Ability to quickly master the capabilities of new technology products
  • Ability to multi-task multiple workstreams, reports and track large and small scale efforts
