Media Relations Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Support the firm’s corporate media strategy, corporate executive positioning, and external issues, risk and reputation management program. Find and build compelling stories that highlight Booz Allen’s people and impact. Support media engagements, respond to media inquiries, and cultivate relationships with media outlets. Work alongside business partners from across the firm to contribute to holistic eminence plans for key C-suite executives. Partner with key internal stakeholders including Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Legal, Finance, and others to communicate with core audiences. Work with the Media Director and others to monitor and manage the firm’s reputation. Leverage social media and other digital channels to amplify the firm’s news, insights and perspectives. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in media relations roles, including working in a public relations or public affairs agency setting, technology firm, or government contracting firm

  • Experience working with senior executives in a media relations capacity

  • Experience with integrated communications, working between internal organizations, and selecting the right internal and external channels for communications

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industry trends, standards, and outlooks, including developing media strategies, deploying creative tactics to build press coverage, utilizing measurement and analytics, and integrating digital and social media into communications campaigns

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple issues at once, and meet tight deadlines

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations

Final salary will be determined based on various factors. The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 75,000 to 80,000.
