Quantum and Classical Computer Science Theorist

Key Role:

Work with Booz Allen quantum computing team to advance frontier research. Act as an advisor and consultant on application of mathematical analysis to scientific problems specifically regarding quantum and classical algorithms and architectures. Perform research to discover new or improved methods of application of mathematical theory or analysis to new or unexplored areas of scientific investigation. Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of theoretical computer science. Identify future research directions and key application areas for emerging computing technologies independently and with the team. Review progress and evaluate results, plan and assign personnel to given projects or tasks, and recommend changes in procedures. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in a mathematics or computer focused research field

-Experience with peer-reviewing publications in theoretical computer science or classical algorithm research

-Experience as a primary or secondary author for publications or a substantial contributor to theoretical or quantum CS

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Mathematics, CS, Electrical Engineering, or Physics

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-Experience with presenting at research conferences or in front of broad technical audiences

-Experience with building and using quantum computing algorithms

-Knowledge of algorithms or complexity theory

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including presenting in front of non-technical audiences

-PhD in Mathematics, CS, Electrical Engineering, or Physics, including post-doctoral work
