Technology and Cybersecurity Marketing Writer

Key Role:

Bring your experience creating audience-centric, data-driven, digital-first content that engages audiences and drives marketing results to Booz Allen Hamilton Corporate Affairs. Create messaging and write firm stories to shape, explain, and position the firm’s major priorities, offerings, services, and products. Translate complex concepts and subject matter into relatable, engaging content accessible to business-to-business and business-to-government (B2B/B2G) audiences that drives action and focus on advanced technologies, including cybersecurity. Manage and oversee the full content life cycle, from ideation, planning, and development through web publication, distribution, and post-publication maintenance and analysis. In collaboration with integrated marketers, demand generation strategists, and channel managers, conduct background research, including SEO and draft and edit content optimized for use across a variety of platforms, channels, and audiences with a focus on driving audience action to meet marketing goals. Use audience, channel, and performance data to inform conception and creation of a suite of on-brand marketing content aligned to channel strategy and buyer stage, including web copy, web articles, blogs, e-newsletters, case studies, social and sharables, how-to guides, tip sheets, infographics, scripts, and advertising. Apply comprehension of brand voice, messaging, content goals, creative concepting, and target audience needs to review and copyedit content to ensure message consistency and content strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in B2B/B2G marketing writing
  • 5 years of experience writing about technology
  • 2 years of experience writing about cybersecurity
  • Experience with applying content strategy and demand funnel to create different types of consistent, engaging marketing content and communications effective at driving awareness, lead-generation, and lead nurturing
  • Experience with collecting and applying customer insights, SEO, channel metrics, and performance data to inform content creation by tailoring content to target audiences and applying data to improve quality, personalization, and audience actions
  • Experience with editing and proofreading to ensure brand voice, messaging alignment, and a high level of quality control and web publishing, content marketing platforms, and content management systems, including Adobe Experience Manager
  • Ability to self-manage work, prioritize, and quickly flex to create and optimize a collection of high-quality, short-form content for primarily digital consumption, including web articles, blogs, e-newsletters, case studies, social posts, guides, tip sheets, infographics, scripts, and advertising
  • Ability to effectively self-research through various sources, including SEO, internal knowledge management, and external reports and engage experts via interviews to capture inputs for and apply to writing
  • Ability to distill complex topics or subject matter to develop content that is appealing to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • BA or BS degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Advertising or 12+ years of experience in B2B/B2G marketing writing in lieu of a degree

  • Experience with executing writing activities in coordination with marketing plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Experience with social media channels and trends and writing copy that resonates with social audiences

  • Ability to stay up-to-date with industry and content marketing trends
  • Ability to take and incorporate feedback constructively
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment prioritizing high-impact activities to quickly research, create, and deliver usable content
  • Technical, business, marketing, media, or digital writing related certification
