Lead Android Developer

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to not just develop software, but to lead building systems that will aid warfighters and law enforcement agents? We’re looking for a lead developer with the skills needed to build biometric tools and other mobile capabilities from vision to production-ready system.

This role is more than just coding. We need a developer who will use their passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You’ll lead the development team to build complex Android applications on custom hardware devices and to build custom Android ROMs. You’ll analyze the needs and the environment to help make sure the solution the team develops considers the current architecture and operating environments as well as future functionality and enhancements. You Have: 

-5+ years of experience with software design and development, computer science, data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and software design

-5+ years of experience in working with Java, Kotlin, C#, C++, or Swift in a professional work environment

-5+ years of experience with leading mobile development projects, including Android in a professional work environment

-5+ years of experience with leading software development for Linux-based systems and custom ROMs in a professional work environment

-Experience with low- and high-level debugging using common debugging tools

-Experience with leading in a collaborative and distributive team environment

-Ability to recommend solutions to both technical and organizational challenges and communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with databases and database architecture design, including SQL and NoSQL

-Experience with user interface design and implementation

-Experience with software testing and quality

-Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures

-Ability to estimate and cost software development activities accurately

-Ability to show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness

-Ability to be comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal environments

-Ability to be a team player with high energy who thrives in an ambiguous environment

-Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, and multi-task on multiple products and projects

-Ability to be results-oriented with a customer focus

-Possession of excellent organizational skills, including tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesizing the results

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

-Active Secret clearance a plus

-BS degree in CS preferred; MS degree a plus
