Engineering Manager

Key Role: 

Focus on the design and the development of business-centric applications for Booz Allen employees. Modernize and build applications using modern technology stacks as well as low code no code platforms. Design and development of applications, enabling and managing development teams, and most importantly owning the delivery and the outcomes. Act as a technical liaison between the development team and the stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time with the right solution and to the required quality standards. Build and manage roadmaps, project and release schedules. Lead by example and actively work to improve Agile practices and outcomes. Own and manage quarterly planning, sprint, and release goals and metrics, remove obstacles, and promote cross-functional collaboration. Be highly technical and an effective people manager with hands-on technical delivery experience. Lead teams that deliver multiple projects with various complexities, sizes, and dependencies. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience with software engineering, technical management, and delivery

  • 5+ years of experience in directly managing and leading teams and projects from inception to rollout using standard SDLC practices

  • 5+ years of experience in system design, product development and product implementation for enterprise customers using cloud services 

  • 3+ years of experience with Agile practices with focus on agile metrics, ceremonies, and artifacts

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology 

 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience developing apps or integrating apps with the Microsoft Office 365 suite  

  • Experience with iPaaS, API Gateways, such as MuleSoft, Boomi  

  • Experience in open-source frameworks, such as Apache and React

  • Experience evaluating COTS products 

  • Experience with low-code/no-code and workflow automation tools, such as Power Platform, Integrify, Zapier or Workato  

  • Knowledge of Service Now application development  

  • Ability to display expertise in various productivity, design, and delivery tools, such as Lucid, Confluence, and Jira 

  • Possession of excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Project management certifications, such as PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, AWS and Azure certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
