Sustainment Systems Engineer and Analyst

The Opportunity:

In this mid-level position, you will support sustainment activities for a diverse portfolio of strategic MILSATCOM space systems and infrastructure. You will provide systems engineering and analysis expertise in support of legacy space systems, as well as various other systems, subsystems, and devices in a multidisciplinary environment. You will also have a direct impact on new MILSATCOM space systems transitioning from the acquisition community to operational stakeholders.

In this role, you'll provide leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force client. We support the acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. How You'll Contribute:

  • Provides the government customer with MILSATCOM systems engineering advisory assistance, including daily engineering consultation in support of sustainment activities
  • Engages the Joint space warfighting community, supporting sustainment tasks through established space systems engineering processes and procedures
  • Evaluates and produces products of a technical nature using technical rigor, adequacy, completeness, and appropriate application of specialty engineering disciplines
  • Assists with technology readiness assessments, identifying risks and issues with proposed technologies while collaborating with other teams
  • Conducts system/enterprise-level engineering analysis to identify sustainment problem areas, providing impact analysis, forecasting potential failures, and presenting options to mitigate these problems
  • Performs engineering analysis on organizational technical processes, suggesting process improvements that increase efficiency or effectiveness of operations
  • Supports formulation of relevant information for sustainment objectives, performing engineering analysis and system-level assessments for decision support
  • Measures and reports on technical performance metrics, such as FMECA, MTBF, and MTTR
  • Conducts trend analysis and root cause analysis for various NC3 systems currently in operations and sustainment
  • Supports waiver, deviation, and deficiency reviews, system allocations, and compliance assessments

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering
  • Experience with using MS Office 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, and MS Project Knowledge of MILSATCOM and DoD mission system sustainment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, line drawings, and schematics
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a technological field

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with contracts development in support of SSC/CGM programmatics
  • Experience working in a multi-contractor environment
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification or higher
  • Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
