Job Description
Key Role:
Support development, implementation, assessment, maintenance and improvement of Environmental Management Systems established in alignment with the ISO 14001 international EMS standard. Possess experience in facilitating cooperative working relationships among client organizations and project stakeholders with differing missions. Conduct environmental audits evaluating client infrastructure and facility operations for compliance with federal, state, and local laws, applicable consensus standards, and client-specific policies. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of environmental and EMS issues and provide corrective actions planning and implementation support. Develop reports to confirm audit findings, provide recommendations to address root causes of deficiencies, and provide long-term solutions to improve the state of environmental management and compliance. Develop and provide training and technical assistance on process improvements related to environmental programs, processes, and management systems conformance. Review policy, guidance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Complete data analysis, evaluation, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in establishing and improving EMSs per ISO 14001 specifications, and conducting environmental compliance audits, assessments, and inspections per federal and related state requirements
Experience with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for environmental compliance and management, such as 40 CFR and relevant state equivalents
Experience with conducting root cause analysis (RCA)
Experience with using Microsoft Office software products, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to research and evaluate environmental data and databases
Ability to organize and execute multiple projects and communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Bachelor's degree
Secret clearance
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with other management systems, such as occupational safety and health per ISO 45001, quality per ISO 9001, energy per ISO 50001
Experience in sustainability, specifically energy conservation or renewable energy
Experience in occupational safety and health program development, implementation, and improvement
Experience with developing project plans and performing task and project management functions
Experience working with government agencies, such as the DoD or the Navy
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related disciplines
Completion of an EMS Lead Auditor training course, including Exemplar Global or International Register of Certificated Auditors
Certified Auditor for environmental, occupational safety and health, energy, or quality management systems
Certified Lead EMS Auditor, Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
