The Opportunity:

As a Data Engineer, you know that organizing big data can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need a data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their big data to impact important missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence. 

As a Data Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your skills and experience to implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, Agile environment. You’ll sharpen your skills in analytical exploration and data examination while you support the assessment, design, developing, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. You Have:  

  • 3+ years of experience with writing software in programming languages, including Python

  • 2+ years of experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) operations, including on-premise or Cloud infrastructure

  • 1+ years of experience with source control and collaboration software, including Git or Atlassian tools

  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies, including SQL or GraphQL

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting on Linux or Windows operating systems

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with deploying analytics workloads on platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), including AWS EMR, Redshift, or SageMaker or Azure Databricks, SQL Data Warehouse, or Machine Learning service

  • Experience with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, including Apache Spark or NVIDIA CUDA, and infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks and services, including Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Experience with developing and presenting complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences and senior leaders

  • Experience with developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines

  • Experience in working with integrated groups composed of customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers

  • Experience with Agile engineering practices 

  • Experience with DoD information systems

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Master's degree in Mathematics

  • Cloud development Certification, including AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Certification, and Information Security Certification, including Security+ or CISSP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
