Systems Software Developer
The Opportunity:
As a software developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and resources to overcome your clients’ most difficult challenges. You’ll use your passion to master new tools and techniques while helping to identify and implement system improvements. You’ll collaborate with your team as you code and deliver solutions that support the architecture and operating environment, as well as support future functionality and enhancements.
On our team, you’ll research, design, develop, and test computer and network software or specialized utility programs. You’ll analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. You’ll update software or enhance existing software capabilities, work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements, and create, modify, or maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. Additionally, you’ll plan and implement software security measures.

You Have:
- 3+ years of experience researching, designing, developing, and testing computer and network software
- Experience with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or development stacks
- Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance with design specifications
- Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
- Experience with workflows, web parts, site maintenance, and APIs
- Ability to create solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Software Development, or CS
- DoD 8570 IASAE Level 2 compliant baseline Cybersecurity Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
