Data Management Engineer

As a Data Management Engineer, you will specialize in modern data and integration platforms such as Informatica, to connect, harmonize, and transform data to deliver relevant insights. What’s more, you’ll have the chance to grow Booz Allen’s DataOps capabilities while working with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. We’re looking for someone like you to ensure our clients meet their mission. 

This is an opportunity to support data management and engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. Driving research and data focused efforts, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with data systems, ETL development teams, interface with data stores, perform data ingestion and handling of structured and unstructured data, improve data quality, and understand data models. From performing analytical exploration and examination of data to leading the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms, you’ll guide your clients to solve their most pressing challenges.

You Have:   

  • Experience with software and systems engineering in all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with architecting, engineering, performance and capacity, deployment standards in production, product integration, product support, overall fitment, such as product usage, and setting up data management environments
  • Experience with developing ETL and data pipelines
  • Experience with data modeling, schema configuration, data quality, and standardization techniques
  • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL, or Shell scripting
  • Ability to work in a big data or data lake environment
  • Ability to learn technical concepts quickly, demonstrate technical solutions, standards, and best practices, and communicate with multiple functional groups
  • Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • Expertise with AWS cloud application development, Trifacta, Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Enterprise Data Management, MDM Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Solution, System Integrator (SI) Relationship, Enterprise Reference 360, and Enterprise Data Governance
  • Experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies, including Databricks
  • Experience with AWS cloud native services for big data storage and processing
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development
  • Knowledge of scaling, performance, and scheduling
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pay strict attention to details, documentation, and SOP definition

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
