The Opportunity:
As an Instructional Designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an Instructional Designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges by crafting effective training.
On our team, you’ll work with internal teams to capture training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their goals. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you’ll design synchronous, asynchronous, and performance support tools following instructional design methodologies.
You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop engaging, interactive learning experiences using tools like Storyline, Camtasia, and rapid video development tools. You’ll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies to build successful learning. You know communication is key, so you’ll meet with SMEs throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer’s learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
5+ years of experience using rapid video tools, including Storyline or Camtasia, to create high-quality, interactive, and effective learning solutions for virtual, web-based, or webinar delivery
5+ years of experience with instructional systems design, training needs analysis, and implementation for adult learners
3+ years of experience writing e-learning scripts and storyboards
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with contracts, pricing, or procurement processes
Experience using video and narration editing software
Experience with eLearning technologies, including webinar platforms, LMS, low-code, or no-code platforms
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Instructional Design, User Experience, or Human-Centered Design Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
