Job Description
Key Role:
Support federal health organizations as a clinical expert and medical advisor for programs related to Medicare, Medicaid, health policy, and health care compliance. Leverage clinical expertise to lead a team of reviewers by providing guidance in questionable claims review situations. Brief and direct reviewers on the correct application of policy during claim adjudication, including through written internal claim review guidelines. Stay current on medical practice and technology changes that could lead to improper billing or program abuse. Interact with medical societies and peer groups. Serve as a key clinical resource in the federal health space as a critical part of a dynamic compliance team. Help Medicare and Medicaid enrollees are receiving timely and comprehensive services.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience practicing medicine as a board-certified physician
- Experience in the health insurance industry, a utilization review firm, or a health care claims processing organization in a role that involved supporting the development of coverage or medical necessity policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of the Medicare program, including the coverage and payment rules
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree
- Active medical license in at least one state within the U.S.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with public relations such as working with physician groups, beneficiary organizations, or congressional offices
- Experience with the federal procurement and proposal process
- Experience participating in clinical workgroups

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
