The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the U.S. government to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and software requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the U.S. government requires to accomplish its fast-paced, worldwide mission. 

As a Network Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll upgrade or develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.  

You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the U.S. government evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. 

Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in network engineering, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have: 

  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering supporting both on-prem and cloud architectures

  • Experience supporting cyber operations or cybersecurity and related networking technologies either in an offensive or defensive manner

  • Experience with a variety of operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, Linux, or various Mobile OS

  • Ability to research, analyze, prioritize, problem-solve, and synthesize large amounts of data and work several tasks concurrently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to translate technical data into written reports that can be consumed by non-technical senior leaders

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience supporting a counterintelligence mission

  • Knowledge of air interface technology as it relates to clandestine communication and operations, including cellular technologies such as 3G, 4G, and 5G and their network functionality, and with computer radio frequency (RF) technology, including WiFi, Bluetooth, and others

  • Knowledge of counterintelligence practices, including foreign intel and security services capabilities and methods to defend, detect, and disrupt clandestine intelligence operational threats

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
