Healthcare Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) and Internet of Things (IoT) Architect

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) and Internet of Things (IoT) Architect to lead the design and deployment of a cloud-based platform and laboratory for real time asset tracking and inventory management in healthcare settings. This role will involve integrating various IoT and RTLS technologies, developing business use cases, and creating strategies to drive adoption within federal healthcare agencies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and enhance operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate will also stay updated on the advancements in RTLS and IoT, exploring innovations to improve healthcare outcomes and business processes. You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in IoT system architecture and RTLS design and deployment

  • Experience in IoT communication protocols, such as MQTT, CoAP, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, 5G, or NB-IoT

  • Experience in RTLS technologies such as RFID, BLE, UWB, Wi-Fi, 5G, and GPS

  • Experience in federal procurement processes and government regulations

  • Experience with cloud platforms for IoT data processing and storage and in big data analytics, machine learning, and AI as applied to IoT

  • Experience with hardware, sensors, gateways, and connectivity solutions and of network design, security protocols, and cybersecurity

  • Experience understanding of data analytics and visualization tools for processing and displaying location-based data and proficiency with edge computing and IoT device management platforms

  • Knowledge of security best practices for IoT and RTLS systems, including encryption, data privacy, and regulatory compliance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in Agile and DevOps environments

  • Experience in implementing IoT solutions in verticals such as smart cities, healthcare, logistics, or manufacturing

  • Experience with indoor positioning systems, warehouse automation, or patient tracking in healthcare

  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java

  • Knowledge of digital twins, blockchain, or 5G technology

  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning models applied to IoT and RTLS data for predictive analytics

  • Ability to work with containerization and orchestration technologies for IoT deployment

  • Certification in IoT or wireless communication technologies

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
