ML Electronic Warfare Research Engineer

The Opportunity: 

As a programmer, you know that machine learning (ML) is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support the future of Electronic Warfare (EW) for the Air Force. As an ML engineer on our Aerospace team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.  

In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll grow within a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with electrical engineers, computer scientists, and physicists to deliver world-class solutions to analyze and develop EW algorithms. Your consulting skills and technical experience will help your clients navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

  • 2+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages, including R, MATLAB, or Python

  • Experience with developing data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources

  • Knowledge of computer vision, statistical pattern recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field

Nice If You Have:  

  • 2+ years of experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or MATLAB

  • 2+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining

  • 2+ years of experience with distributed data and computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL

  • 2+ years of experience with dynamic programming, combinatorial optimization, or linear programming

  • Experience with developing deep learning algorithms using structured and unstructured data sources and frameworks, including Tensorflow or Pytorch

  • Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2

  • Knowledge of radar, communications systems, digital signal processing, or time-series analysis

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
