Operations Engineer

Key Role:

Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to various problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience performing System Administrator job functions

  • 2+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing infrastructure and platforms, including Windows, VMware, or RHEL environments

  • Experience taking an idea from creation to completion with clear documentation outlining development, sustainment, security, and deployment

  • Experience monitoring and maintaining various technologies and systems

  • Experience developing engineering change requests and identifying and breaking down relevant tasks

  • Experience with PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or Packer

  • Knowledge of various protocols, switching technologies, routing fundamentals, firewalls, and virtualized environments such as VMware

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification, such as Security+ CE Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Methodologies

  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53

  • Experience using security tools, such as Splunk, Nessus, Snort, and Solar Winds

  • Experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Packer

  • Technical certifications, including Cisco, VMware, or Microsoft Certifications

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,600.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
