Learning Design and Content Development Lead

Key Role:

Lead a team of instructional designers with a focus on driving innovation and embracing AI to transform learning experiences across our professional services firm. Pioneer the development of cutting-edge self-paced and virtual instructor-led courses, utilizing advanced tools like Synthesia, Articulate AI, and Microsoft Copilot to deliver engaging, scalable, and forward-thinking training programs. Enhance instructional design using a curious mindset, constantly exploring new technologies and creative approaches. Establish governance, best practices, and standards for course authoring while collaborating with Learning Strategists and senior stakeholders to create impactful learning solutions that align with business goals and future talent needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience leading teams to design and develop innovative learning solutions using advanced technologies such as AI-driven tools, virtual environments, and multimedia platforms

  • Experience with instructional design methodologies and creating engaging self-paced and virtual instructor-led training programs that drive measurable business impact

  • Experience leveraging AI and learning technologies such as Synthesia, Articulate AI, and Microsoft Copilot to streamline content development and enhance learning experiences

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and learning experience platforms (LXP) such as Workday Learn and Degreed, including integrating and managing content, tracking learner progress, and leveraging data analytics to drive learning outcomes

  • Knowledge of prompt engineering to optimize AI-generated content, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and engagement within training programs

  • Knowledge of course authoring governance, standards, and best practices, ensuring that learning materials are consistent, high-quality, and aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of instructional designers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including Learning Strategists, subject matter experts, and senior business leaders to align learning solutions with business needs and objectives

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in instructional design or learning content development, or 8+ years of experience in instructional design or learning content development in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with project management and leading teams to deliver complex learning initiatives in a professional services or corporate environment

  • Experience working with senior business leaders and stakeholders to align learning solutions with business strategy and objectives

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
