Mission Readiness Strategy and Improvement Project Manager, Senior

This is an opportunity to create efficiency in the homeland security and national resilience enterprise. As a strategy and improvement project manager, you’ll use your expertise to help your team assess how alterations will impact business processes and develop solutions to ensure organizational readiness. From unrealized potential to systemic challenges, your team will provide your client with a holistic view of their organization to transform their practices and be ready when mission operations call. 

You will provide analysis of homeland security and emergency management stakeholder requirements and lead the design, development, conduct, and evaluation of preparedness assessment exercises. You’ll coordinate and manage the relationships to assess stakeholders and optimize organizational performance. You’ll lead performance, measurement development, analysis, and reporting for client mission readiness in response to natural disasters, long term community resilience planning, or terrorist attacks. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables and products, managing project schedule and budget, and formulating or implementing effective and timely remedial actions.

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience supporting emergency management or homeland security response, exercises, or projects and with concepts of organizational strategy and performance

  • Experience designing and conducting disaster exercises and independently leading small project teams

  • Ability to demonstrate solid consulting skills, including strong verbal and written communications, problem solving, critical thinking, and research and analysis

  • Ability to apply industry standards for organizational operations, including planning, training, assessing, or improving

  • Ability to work in a team environment, conduct research and analysis, and develop high-quality written reports and briefings

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel proficiently

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple high-priority assignments

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree  


Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience in the application of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles and doctrine in the design, development, conduct, and evaluation of exercises

  • Experience designing, developing, and conducting organizational performance assessments

  • Experience with federal and state government relationships and policies

  • Experience with SharePoint, Visio, and ArcGIS

  • Knowledge of homeland security and emergency management fundamentals

  • Secret clearance

  • Completion of HSEEP training

  • Associate Emergency Manager, Certified Emergency Manager, Associate Business Continuity Planner, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program, or Master Exercise Practitioner Program Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
