Airfield Planner

Key Role:

Lead the planning and design of airfield infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, and support facilities, in alignment with U.S. military standards and host nation requirements. Coordinate with U.S. and Japanese stakeholders to ensure compliance with bilateral agreements and integration of operational needs. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to support timely completion of airfield construction phases. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and mitigate potential risks. Prepare and present detailed reports, plans, and briefings to senior leadership and relevant authorities. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and incorporate sustainability practices into airfield planning efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in airfield planning or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software such as AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations pertaining to airfield design and operations
  • Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Aviation Management

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working on joint U.S.-Japan defense infrastructure projects
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Knowledge of the Japanese language and cultural practices to facilitate collaboration with host nation partners
  • Possession of excellent communication skills
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
