Enterprise Cybersecurity Data Loss Prevention Administrator

The Opportunity:

Enterprise Cybersecurity (ECS) is seeking a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Administrator to safeguard data assets from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. In this role, you’ll be developing, implementing, and managing DLP policies and tools, monitoring and responding to DLP incidents, and ensuring adherence to data protection regulations and standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams and vendors to identify and mitigate data risks and enhance data security. This role will primarily involve the use of Microsoft Purview for policy management. You will also proficiently use additional tools, including Jira, ServiceNow, and Splunk, as well as automation and analytics platforms. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.  

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Develop, update, and enforce DLP policies and rules.
  • Review and approve policy exceptions, and provide user training on DLP best practices. 
  • Classify and label data based on sensitivity and value.
  • Apply data protection measures such as encryption, masking, or redaction.
  • Audit data classification and protection activities. 
  • Install, configure, and maintain DLP tools and systems. Ensure regular backups, updates, and patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues. 
  • Conduct data risk assessments and audits. Develop risk mitigation plans and controls, and monitor data risk levels. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws and standards such as CMMC, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and generate reports. 
  • Manage relationships with external DLP vendors, and evaluate and select DLP solutions, and negotiate contracts. 
  • Stay updated on DLP trends and best practices, and recommend and implement security enhancements. 
  • Collaborate with other teams to align DLP goals, and provide support and guidance on DLP issues, and lead awareness campaigns. 
  • Monitor and analyze DLP alerts and events, and evaluate and update policies based on incidents for continuous improvement.

You Have: 

  • 3+ years of experience in DLP administration or data security role
  • Experience with DLP tools, systems, and methodologies
  • Knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and standards
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage DLP policies and procedures
  • Ability to monitor and respond to DLP incidents and breaches
  • Ability to classify and protect data according to its sensitivity and value
  • Ability to perform data risk assessments and audits
  • Ability to ensure compliance and provide comprehensive reporting of DLP activities
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Information Technology field

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including collaborating with other teams and stakeholders
  • DLP, data security, or a related certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
