The Opportunity:

As a seasoned data professional, you know that machine learning (ML) is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. We need your technical expertise to support the Intelligence Community in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate effect generation on targets of opportunity. 


As an Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Engineer on our national security team, you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data. Your ability to lead statistical analyses on business processes using machine learning techniques is key and makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution.  

In this role, you’ll lead the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and introducing leading-edge technologies. You’ll share your knowledge with a large community of machine learning engineers across the company and collaborate with IC stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions to enable innovative solutions to real-world problems.

You Have:  

  • 2+ years of experience with artificial intelligence data science, machine learning engineering, or data analytics 

  • Experience with project work in deep learning, computer vision, NLP, or signal processing

  • Experience using AI and ML frameworks, including PyTorch or TensorFlow

  • Experience with multiple libraries, including NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit, or Pandas

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies 

  • Experience with high-level programming languages, including Python, Scala, or Java 

  • Knowledge of modern software design patterns, including microservice design or edge computing 

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Science field


Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience transitioning AI prototypes to production 

  • Experience with embedded systems programming in C, C++, or Rus

  • Experience with DevOps tools, including Docker, Git, GitLab, GitHub, Continuous Integration (CI), or Continuous Deployment (CD) 

  • Experience with writing Dockerfiles, Helm, Kubernetes, and deployment scripts and templates 

  • Experience interfacing with databases, including SQL or MondoDB

  • Experience managing Kubernetes container orchestration platforms, including Rancher, OpenShift, k3s, or Kubeadm 

  • Experience with cloud platform management and provisioning, including AWS, GovCloud, and Microsoft Azure 

  • Experience with GPU-programming, including CUDA or RAPIDs

  • Ability to gather requirements from customers and lead Agile teams 

  • Master’s degree in CS or Statistics preferred; Doctorate degree in CS or Statistics a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
