As a back-end developer, you know that a good site or system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We’re looking for a back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to help identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients. 

As a back-end developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to help deliver solutions. Using your software engineering knowledge, you’ll work with and learn from the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability.

You Have: 

  • 3+ years of experience with developing web applications using JavaScript or Typescript and a framework such as Angular, React, or Vue, including building HTML and CSS
  • Experience with Java Spring Framework and server-side application development using JavaScript or Python
  • Experience with usability analysis and automated testing development, including unit and end-to-end testing
  • Experience with switching between different languages and learning new ones, as necessary, and working closely with software development and platform teams
  • Experience with Pandas, data wrangling, and data processing libraries
  • Experience in creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to collaborate within SWDEV or Framework teams
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Security+ or CISSP Certification within 30 days of start date

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with testing frameworks, including Jasmine, Karma, or Selenium, and AWS environments
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and orchestration, and Linux scripting in Bash or Perl
  • Experience with using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions
  • Experience using JavaScript visualization libraries, including D3, Leaflet, and AG Grid
  • Experience with information security
  • Experience with Agile or Kanban development methodologies
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and supporting pipelines
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or GitLab
  • Knowledge of standards in JavaScript, JSON, REST, CORS, Web architecture, and HTTP specification
  • Ability to work with geospatial tools, including ArcGIS

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
