Operational Strategist

The Opportunity:

As an expert in defense missions, your unique background inspires you to think bigger, push further, and ask questions others don’t. We need your extensive industry knowledge and advisory skills to solve some of our clients’ most complex problems and find technological solutions that keep our nation safe.

As an Operational Strategist for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you’ll coordinate across the Headquarters staff, Combatant Commands, Components, Air Force, other Major Commands, partners, industry, and other agencies to forecast, plan, schedule, and integrate advanced technology and data capabilities to enhance decision making and information advantage. You’ll assist planning and execution of exercises and training events to ensure proper architecture and interoperability or data exchange standards are implemented and employed. You’ll work with exercise planners to identify opportunities to inject emerging capabilities into exercise training plans to advance capability development. You’ll provide subject matter expert support to researching, coordinating, developing, and assisting with implementation of architecture concepts and standards to enhance operations, including C2, IAMD, ISR, A2AD, TACS, Data Sharing, and routine operations.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with operations in Air Force or Joint Command and Control (C2), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), or Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)
  • 3+ years of experience at the strategic or operational levels on a Major Command or higher staff
  • Ability to operate in a multinational environment and work directly with MAJCOM level staff, foreign partners, and allied militaries
  • Ability to travel OCONUS and CONUS up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working with Geographic Combatant or Component Commands
  • Experience as a qualified operator in an Air Force TACS or Joint C2 organization, including an Air Operations Center (AOC) or Distributed Ground System (DGS)
  • Ability to take the initiative and solve problems, produce senior-officer level presentations, briefings, and background papers, and provide detailed and well-researched reports
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans
  • Possession of strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree
  • Graduate of Military Advanced Studies

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
